Shipping

Do you offer free shipping?
Within the United States, shipping is free via USPS for orders over $85, otherwise, shipping is $8.95.
How soon will my order ship?

We make every effort to ship out on the same day. If your order is placed late in the day or after hours, we’ll ship the next business day.

If there is an issue or question with your order we will communicate with you via email and wait for your response before shipping.

Will I be able to track my order?
We ship most orders with delivery tracking and that information is automatically emailed to you when the shipping label is created.

What if my package gets lost in transit?

Per the USPS guidelines, a package is not considered lost until 15 days after mailing. Before that, they won't reply to our messages.

We ship most orders with delivery tracking, and that tracking number will be automatically emailed to you when your package ships. That helps prevent almost all lost packages - or at least prove where the USPS dropped the ball.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship to Europe, Canada, Australia & New Zealand. If you would like an order shipped somewhere outside of these countries, please contact us and we will make arrangements.

Do you offer curbside or in-store pick-up?

Yes, but it will not show as an option if you are using PayPal express so you will need to use the Coupon Code ‘PICKUP’ to reverse shipping fees. Also, please indicate ‘PICKUP’ in the notes section so we are sure to catch it!

If you are paying via credit card or gift card, simply select ‘LOCAL PICKUP’ at checkout and we will notify you via email when your order is ready.

Refunds & Returns

General
Yarn in new condition may be returned for a refund or store credit within 30 days. Returns within 30-60 days are eligible for exchange or store credit. No returns after 60 days. Needles may be returned within 24hrs for refund or 1 week for store credit. No returns after 1 week.
Final Sale items
No returns are accepted for clearance items, notions, hooks, or books. We also do not accept returns of wound or damaged yarn.
Incorrect, defective, or damaged items
If the item you received is incorrect, defective, or damaged please contact us immediately. We will send you a return label to ship the incorrect or defective item back to us and will ship out the correct item to you.

Classes

How do I know what classes you have to offer?
All classes are available online on our Classes page. Information about the class, dates, times, and class fees can all be found there.
How do I sign up for classes?

You can sign up on the Classes page of our website and pay online, or call the shop and pay over the phone. You can also stop in and sign up in person.

Note: You are not considered registered until your class is paid for.

If I can’t make it, will I get a refund?

A full refund will be given if you cancel 48 hrs or more prior to class.

Cancellation 24 – 48 hrs prior to class will receive a store credit for the next time the same class is offered.

Cancellation less than 24 hrs prior to class – No refund of any kind.

If Harps & Thistles Yarn Emporium and/or the instructor cancels the class for any reason you will have a choice of applying the fee to another class or receiving a refund.

Gift Cards

How can I purchase a gift certificate?

Gift certificates are available for purchase in-store and online. Those purchased online will be issued in the form of a printable email. There will be no physical card mailed. It is advisable to take a picture of your gift certificate (if purchased in-store) thermal paper can deteriorate over time.

Can I redeem my gift certificate online?

Yes. Simply choose ‘gift certificate’ as your payment method and redeem using the 16 digit code.

Special Orders

Will you order something for me that isn't in stock?

The answer is YES as long as we have an account with the company that distributes that item.

A 50% deposit is required at the time of the requested order and the balance is due when the item is picked up. 

Can I return an item that I special ordered?

If the item is something we typically carry, you may return it for exchange or store credit only, no cash refunds.

If the item is not something we carry it is not eligible for return.
