Date:  May 8

Time: 6-8pm

Cost:  $25

Skill Level:  This class is appropriate for intermediate knitters on up. It is helpful if you have made a sock in the past, but not necessary.

Skills Needed:  You must be able to knit in the round on double pointed needles, 2 circulars, or Magic Loop; whatever is your favorite is fine.

Skills Learned: Skills learned in this class include short rows, as well as a discussion of several different methods of short rows, and the Kitchener stitch

Class Description: Most of us have heard of short row heels, but never encountered short row toes. If you look carefully at the toe of a commercially-produced sock, it is most likely made with a short row toe. Short row toes can be used in either toe-up or top-down socks. This class will be for top-down

Homework: Cast on 60 stitches (in the round) and knit about 1 inch.

Class length is 1 session of about 2 hours.

Supplies: Materials needed for the class are: a small amount of yarn (any weight) and the appropriate sized needles for that yarn, and a yarn needle for Kitchener stitch.

Skill Levels

Beginner - you have no experience with the technique or skills, the class is designed to teach you the basics.

Intermediate – you have some experience and confidence with the technique or skills, but need a bit more practice, you’re ready to take your skills to the next level.

Advanced – you know how to read patterns and understanding how the stitch is made; you know what you are doing. You are ready for a challenge and to learn new techniques and skills.
