Class Description:
Have you ever loved a Fair Isle pullover but wished it had a cardigan option?  We'll then this is the class for you!  We will be knitting this beautiful chunky pullover together and Coletta will guide you through the process of transforming it into a cardigan with a section for steeking and the process of adding a zipper!
The Islington is a classic yoked sweater that plays with purls and knits in the colorwork and is knit in the round from the bottom up.

We will be using the original pattern and adapting it to make a steeked zipper cardigan.
Homework: Knit at least a 5” swatch and bring it to class.   Don’t forget to wash and lay flat to dry!
Please be sure to place your yarn order by January 20th so we can order additional in if necessary!
Skills required: 
Cast on, bind off, increases, knitting flat and in the round, and consistency
in your gauge.

Skills learned:

Stranded knitting, how and when to catch floats, steeking, applying a zipper.
Materials:  
You must purchase the pattern on Ravelry prior to class:  Islington Jumper
Aran weight yarn, Woolstok tweed recommended.
Knitting needles:
SIZE 9 (5.5mm) double pointed needles or preferred needles for small circumference knitting (for sleeve)
SIZE 9 (5.5mm) 16” and 32” circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.
SIZE 10 (6mm) 16" and 32" circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.
SIZE 10 (6mm) double pointed needles or preferred needles for small circumference knitting, or size needed to obtain gauge.
