Ali is a stay-at-home mom with five children whom she homeschools. In July 2013, she and her family moved from Oregon's beautiful state to the rocky, hot land of South Texas. She began knitting about ten years ago, and knitting quickly became a passion. Knitting then gave way to spinning, and then spinning gave way to dyeing her own fiber. Dyeing quickly morphed into dyeing her own yarn. Out of that, Savvy Skeins was born!
Savvy Skeins yarn is dyed one-by-one by hand out of Ali's home kitchen. "My approach to dyeing is very organic and abstract. Colors will come into my mind and then are translated onto undyed hanks. It is a satisfying process! Over the last few years, I have been fortunate to share my love of color and yarn with a variety of shops around the United States. My goal is to inspire creativity in the knitting community and allow my colorways to bring joy to the lives of makers."
