Instructor: Judie Hershey
Dates: Saturday, November 9 & 23
Time: 1-3 pm

Do you have that one special skein of indie-dyed yarn lying around waiting for the perfect pattern to really show it off?
This might just be the pattern for you!
Brushstroke Hat was designed to highlight hand-painted and variegated colorways, combining brioche and herringbone. Using just one skein of fingering held double, this hat is the perfect way to show off a special yarn with two beautiful and timeless texture stitches. This is a quick knit, so you will have plenty of time to whip one up for everyone on your Christmas list.
Skills needed: Knit, purl, experience knitting in the round, brioche knit and purl in the round. If you have no experience with brioche, you can substitute plain ribbing. Brioche will not be taught in this class.
Skills taught: Herringbone stitch
Materials: 100 grams fingering weight or DK yarn. If using fingering, your yarn will be help doubled, so it needs to be wound into 2 equal sized balls, or into a cake where you can knit with both ends at once. A fun pom pom (optional).
Needles: Circular needles at size 5 & 11 (US), 16", and a set of double pointed needles, size 11 (US), or a long circular needle for Magic Loop.
